Our guest, Ellie Butler, RN, knows what it’s like to not be able to give her own patients the care they needed, and now she’s on a mission to help others find wholeness in Christ for their health.

In this episode, Ellie shares the importance of first being free from the guilt of pursuing health at the expense of your faith.

We believe that eternal health starts with Christ, and He is exactly where we find our ultimate hope.

This conversation does get into the intuitive part of managing diabetes from a place of connecting with your body and we will leave you with practical tips of how to start doing that as well.

If you want to find more freedom in managing your diabetes or caring for a loved one from a place of grace, this episode is for you.

Scripture to Encourage You on Your Diabetes Journey

If you or your loved ones are struggling with managing diabetes from a place of grace, Ellie recommends reading Mark 5:24-34.

As you read, look for what God does for this woman and what that says about who He is for your story:

“And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him. And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.

She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, ‘If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.’

And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?” And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. And he said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.’

Jesus offers protection, healing from suffering, and salvation. God doesn’t always choose to heal physically—think about Paul with his thorn in the side and Jesus on the cross.

BUT we are promised eternal life in heaven and a redeemed body.

This may not be in our timing, but God always wants us to come to Him, to reach out to Him, for ultimate healing. Just as it was the woman’s faith that made her well, so will you be made well by your faith.

And God never disappoints, because He has poured out His Spirit into the hearts who are ready to receive Him.

Are you ready?

Get Aligned with God’s Peace Before the Holiday Season

Quick question for you: Have you gone through my Aligned devotional yet?

Aligned is a 7-week guide to help you return to God’s perfect peace in an anxious world. Let me reintroduce you to the study so you can have a firm foundation of peace before walking into the upcoming holiday season.

I recently went through the study with a few friends, and one of them asked for us to pray for her job each week. She went through five rounds of interviews over the course of our study, and she ultimately didn’t get the job she was hoping for. But because she had been practicing how to “do her best and trust God with the rest”, she wasn’t crushed. She didn’t despair. She trusted God’s plan and in turn, was able to rest in His peace. There was a calm about her that wasn’t there before.

I don’t know what’s going on in your life or what the Lord may have for you in the future, but I believe this study will help you know how to come back to the peace that is already yours in Christ. It will help you center in on the promises God does make to us and help us rest in those for our hope and our life.

You can find the 7-Week Study and the video series that goes with it here. You can buy the video series for yourself or for a group at a lower cost.

If you start next week, you’ll be done before Thanksgiving! So grab a friend, and let’s get aligned.
