Aligning Body Image Beliefs with God’s Truth

“I was young when I heard the whisper that something was wrong with my body.”—Heather Creekmore

Many of us hear this same subversive whisper, this same voice that tells us we need to change. And we listen. That voice says we need to shrink our bodies, make ourselves more fit, more desirable so we can finally be accepted. But have we really questioned this voice? Have we put it to the test?

This kind of thinking flies in the face of the gospel truth: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). We don’t have to change for God to love us, He already does. It’s his love that changes us.

In this interview, Heather Creekmore, podcaster and author, shares how she chased the acceptable body through school, fitness instructor training, and even in marriage until she realized she was chasing an idol. Body image can be deceiving! That’s why we are excited to share with you this episode so we can stand up to the enemy and fight back with the truth.

If you feel the disparity between how you feel about your body and what you know God says about you, we hope this episode can give you the perspective and tools you need to get started capturing your thoughts and pick the lies from the truth. You’ll learn what to be aware of to prevent obsession, the foundational eating patterns to get in place first, and how to get started today.
